An Examined Life

One of the best things a leader can do on a regular basis is a constant examination of their “State”. This means that they are examining their achievements, activities, relationships and plans, and, measuring it against their potential. Most leaders understand that their true competition is their potential and without constant examination, they can stray far from what they were designed to do.

True self-examination can be scary as it entails asking yourself the tough questions and, ensuring you are on the right path. Sometimes, a partner may be able to help us with the process. For me it is my wife. Like Socrates once said, “The un-examined life is not worth living.”

Take the exam!
