The AI era is upon us! However, I’m not sure that our schools are fully equipped to prepare students for the jobs required in an AI driven era. Of course, numeracy and literacy skills will still be important in the future. However I agree with a statement in a recent publication in the Telegraph that “modern employers demand new ones like collaboration, coding, digital literacy, fluency in languages, critical thinking, creativity and entrepreneurial skills. According to the publication, “We need to prepare young people not just for their first job, but for their last, so that they remain economically productive for the whole of their lives. Linear employment with steady progression looks increasingly outdated in the age of Uber and Airtasker.”
So now that we know the skills that will be relevant in an era where Artificial Intelligence applications are ubiquitous, who is going to bell the cat?
