One of the best gift a leader can give to their team(s) is belief – a genuine belief in the abilities of the team(s) they lead. I once had a new team member approach me about a problem he had with a model he was working on. I asked him what we should do and, he described to me what he thought we should do to solve the problem. I then told him to go ahead and do exactly what he told me. He would later recount that incidence, several months down the road, and how it helped his self-belief.
Sometimes all your team needs is the realization that their leader believes in them!
