I’ve had the opportunity to work in different organizations across the world under the leadership of several managers. In retrospect, I can see how I’ve gone the extra (extra, extra ^ 3) miles at work (sometimes even working on weekends), because I saw that my manager really cared about my growth and believed in me.
Now, they didn’t let me get off easy but, in love, always challenged me to grow and become a better person. I can think of the VP (now retired) at one of the companies where I worked that really cared about my growth and sowed the seed of doing an MBA in my mind. I can also think of a previous boss that told me that we can build a great analytics team (even though I was a new intern in the department and analytics wasn’t really as popular then , as it is today). I’ve been really blessed to have great individuals as managers and can share several stories.
